Forgive my ignorance, but what are GCSE's? Is it some type of standardized test that students have to take? And what do the different letters mean?

lol shursh it means General Certificate of Secondary Education... yes all students are required to take them before moving on to A-levels ... e.g College or Sixth form to do A-Levels which leads to University or a Job =)

it can consist of around 20 exams... each on specific subjects be it maths, english, ICT, PE or more specific e.g Child development.

GSCE = General Certificate of Secondary Education, which I hear is the same level of education that Americans leave school with at 18 (here in the UK, you finish GCSE's at 16).

Then you move on to A - Levels from 16-18 (Advanced Levels), which are equivalent to the first year and a bit more of a University Degree.

I had a freaky dream last night of being in an American School, and being in Sports Classes as well as the orchestra. It then somehow warped to Visiting University open days in England, except that the School and the Universities were very surreal places.

I've already finished Uni a long time ago, and I keep on getting dreams about school. Very wierd
